Chantal Fillion, MSc, BA.
I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with a Master of Science in Counselling Psychology from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with a major and minor in Psychology from MacEwan University. In the past, I have worked in mental health research and for social services programs helping support individuals struggling with barriers to employment and housing. These experiences have instilled in me a passion for developing a dynamic and trauma-informed practice.

Registered Provisional Psychologist
Throughout my education, I focused my studies on experiences of trauma (including secondary traumatic stress), burnout, compassion fatigue, and recovery. In my master's research on burnout in critical care nursing, I learned the value of connection, social support, and shared understanding for not only recovery from life’s stressors, but also for personal and collective wellbeing. After completing Level 1 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, I gained a deep appreciation for the importance of supporting couples in fostering stronger communication, empathy, friendship, and understanding within their relationships.
At present, I am available to work with individuals over the age of 18, and couples.
Whether you are in the midst of dealing with life’s challenges or looking to make the most of a period of calm, together we can work towards your goals and find ways to grow.
As a person-centered therapist, I use a combination of the following therapeutic modalities, as needed:
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
-
Solution-Focused Therapy
-
